Meal Ideas

One of the things I struggle with is ideas for meals...seems like I start repeating after 1 week and that is pretty boring. Just to get the discussion started, how about next week we each post what we had for dinner each evening (assuming it is homemade :) ).

Kat, I think it sounds like a great idea. I definitely get into a rut when it comes to food. And I always love trying new recipes. I find having more going on than just cooking makes the experience more enjoyable. I'm figuring out how to get some TV in the kitchen. :)

Great idea. I quickly get bored with the same foods I cook every week. That was the idea with the "virtual recipe club" we recently started. This month we're trying a recipe Karen shared with us, it's posted by Danielle in previous blogs. I can't wait to try it!!

The more recipes we can share the better :-)

I remember laughing at our college roommate for reading cookbooks (instead of using it as a reference)...but I've been doing more of this the past year...

I read through our Moosewood Cafe cookbook. Mostly vegetarian food and fish (pescatarian). But a lot of is gluten-free if you skip the pizza, sandwich, and pasta sections. And even then it is easy to substitute. So I marked recipes I wanted to try with those PostIt flags so I can find them again later. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try some of them this week.

Does it count if Brandon cooks?

Sunday night - 3 lb dip and Jumbalya

I think it does! Cause I don't cook every night or we split the effort.

This is what we cooked this weekend:

Saturday Lunch:
boneless chicken thighs grilled w/ bbq sauce
brussel sprouts

Sunday Lunch:
beef stew meat cooked in olive oil, garlic, basil, and oregano
on
brown rice spiral pasta
grated Parmesan cheese
spinach salad with grape tomatoes

Sunday Dinner:
cauliflower roasted in paprika and cocoa
low-fat turkey sausage ring
